 CHARLES M.PERRY DIES AT SARANAC Charles M. Perry, 68, of Saranac, died at his home at that place Sunday afternoon. He had been in ill health for a number of years. Funeral arrangements had not been completed last night. Surviving Mr. Perry are his wife, eight sons and six daughters. They are:— Mrs. Ernest Brusso, Standish; Mrs. Earl Pardy, Beekmantown; the Misses Marjorie, Pearl, Barbara and Marie of Saranac; Clifford, Redford; Clyde, Saranac; Walter, Pike, N.H.; Herman, Ray Brook; Clarence, Fort Slocum, N.Y.; Ralph, Oswald and Kenneth of Saranac. A sister, Mrs. James Coffey, Redford, and three brothers, Peter, Redford; Louis, Lake Placid and John, Pasco, Wash., also survive, besides several grandsons

Leo C. Perry
MORRISONVILLE — Leo C.
Perry, 79. died Tuesday morning at
the CVPH Medical Center.
He was born May 1. 1901 in
Saranac, the son of Peter and
Deneva (Macey) Perry.
He retired from the Delaware and
Hudson Railroad in 1963 after 46
years of service. Mr. Perry was also
a custodian at Saranac Central
School after retiring from D&H.
He is survived by his wife of 56
years, the former Lillian Carter;
one son, Leo L. of Morrisonville;
three sisters. Mrs. Wilmer (Hazel)
Wood of Chazy Lake, Mrs. Raymond
(Irene) Carter of Dannemora and
Mrs. Arthur (Bertha) LaVarnway
of Dannemora; several nieces and
nephews; two grandsons and two
great-granddaughters.
caning hours will be held today
from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the
O’Neill-Redden-Drown Funeral
Home.
A Bible vigil service will be held
Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m. at
the funeral home .
Funeral services will be held at 10
a.m. Thursday at St, Alexander’s
Church in Morrisonville.
Burial will be in St. Alexander’s
Cemetery.

Irene K. Carter
DANNEMORA – Mrs. Irene
K. Carter. 79. of 125 Smith St.
died Sunday. July 29.1984. at her
home.
She was born in Saranac on
April 2. 1905, the daughter of
Peter and Denise (Messier)
Perry.
Mrs. Carter has lived in Dannemora
for the past 65 years. Her
husband. Raymond C. Carter,
was owner and operator of Raymond
C. Carter and Sons Excavating
in Dannemora for more
than 40 years. They married Oct,
20.1924.
Survivors include her husband;
three sons. Ellison of Dannemora
and Adrian and Herbert
of Plattsburgh; a daughter, Mrs.
Francis (Ruth) King of Plattsburgh;
a sister, Mrs. Hazel
Wood of Plattsburgh; 17 grandc
hildren and 13 greatgrandchildren.
Calling hours will be held today
from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the
R.W. Walker Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held
Tuesday at 9 a.m. at St. Joseph’s
Church.

DANNEMORA — Bertha A.
LaVarnway, 73. of 8 Thayer Ave.
died Monday evening at the CPVPH
Medical Center.
She was born Jan. 6, 1907, in
Saranac, the daughter of Peter and
Deneva (Macey) Perry.
She is survived by her husband,
Arthur W. LaVarnway; three sons,
Arthur L. Jr. of Dannemora,
Frank of Plattsburgh and Joseph
of Massena; two daughters. Mrs.
Romeyn (Mary) McAlpine of Lyon
Mountain and Mrs. Edward
(Margaret) Merrill of Newark.
N.Y.; two sisters, Mrs. Raymond
(Irene) Carter of Dannemora and
Mrs. Wilmer (Hazel) Wood of
Chazy Lake; 23 grandchildren , 17
great-grandchildren and several
nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at
11 a.m. today at St. Josephs
Church in Dannemora.
Burial will follow in the parish
cemetery.
