Maureen S. “Moe” King, 46, of Cogan Ave. Plattsburgh, NY, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2011 Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. She was born April 7, 1965 in Plattsburgh, New York the daughter of Wayne and Sheila (Camfield) King. Moe graduated from Plattsburgh High School, Class of 1983 and received her Bachelors Degree and Masters in Education from Plattsburgh State University College. At the time of death she was a fifth grade teacher at Oak Street Elementary School. Moe will be remembered for her passion for teaching and connecting with her students. She enjoyed gardening, photography, traveling, hiking, taking motorcycle rides, cooking and entertaining and was an animal lover.
She is survived by her two children Ryan Pepper of Plattsburgh, NY, and Meagan Pepper of Syracuse, NY; her fiancé Stephen Buergin of Plattsburgh, NY, her parents Wayne and Sheila King of Lynchburg, VA, her siblings, Laureen White and her husband Todd of Woodstock, VA, Kyle King and his wife RoseAnn of Lenox, MA, Kathleen Warren and her husband Greg of Roanoke, VA, her canine companion Allie, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive her.
Maureen was predeceased by her paternal grandparents George and Mary King and her maternal grandparents Edward and Lois Camfield.
Calling hours will be Sunday, December 11, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, New York.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, December 12, 2011 at 10:00 at St. Peter’s Church.
Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers friends wishing may make donations to the Maureen S. King Scholarship Fund which will be established.

David James King

Plattsburgh – David James King, 48, of the Blake Road, Plattsburgh, died Sunday, June 17, 2012 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh with his loving family and friends by his side.

He was born in Plattsburgh, March 22, 1964, the son of Albert James and Alice (Rougeau) King. David attended Beekmantown and Peru Central Schools. Recently, he decided to further his education at Clinton Community College through the literacy volunteers program.

Dave married Darlene C. Doner, August 25, 1984, though they parted after 18 years of marriage, they remained great friends.

Dave was employed at Jack Liberty’s Garage in his younger days, and then was employed for 22 years at the Local Union 186. Lastly, he worked for the Town of Plattsburgh Water and Sewer Dept.

He enjoyed listening to his 8-track player while tinkering in his garage with his son working on family and friends vehicles, as well as demolition derby cars. His true joy was spending time with his kids and grandkids while capturing every moment on his disposable cameras.

His memory will be cherished by his children, Leeann Bishop and husband Robert of Morrisonville, Jeremy King and wife Amanda of Schuyler Falls, Brittany King of Peru, Sabrina King and fiancé Josh Dashnaw of Schuyler Falls, Tyler King of Peru, and Shian Brunell; his mother, Alice (Rougeau) King and her companion, James Stockdale; grandchildren, Jacob, Ethan, RJ, Koralynn, Jeremiah, Gretchen, Alyssa, and baby to be born in December; his siblings, Karl King and wife Nora, Tina Ryan and husband Orville, Karen King and companion Andy; his companion, Donna Parent and her children; best friend, Jason Covey; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and his dog, Boots.

He was predeceased by his father; grandfather, Harold Joseph Morgan; and sister, Loriann King.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday, June 20, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. Burial will be held Thursday, June 21, 2012 at 10 a.m. in St. Peter’s Cemetery in Plattsburgh with Rev. William G. Reamer, officiating.

Donations in his memory may be made to the Cardiology Department at CVPH Medical Center, C/O CVPH Foundation, 75 Beekman Street, Plattsburgh, NY 12901.

Joshua K. King

Obituary:

Mr. Joshua K. King, 33, of Route 22, West Chazy, NY, passed away Monday, January 14, 2013 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

He was born in Plattsburgh on March 30, 1979, the son of Leon and Robyn (Simpson) King.

Josh graduated from Beekmantown Central School in 1998. He then began working at his family’s business Bromley’s Auto Body in Beekmantown as an Auto Tech. Josh loved to watch wrestling, go to the movies, Jeff Gordon and his gold P.T. Cruiser.

He was predeceased by his grandparents; Kenneth King, Ralph and Margaret Simpson, his uncle, Paul Jesse and an aunt, Jill Moore.

Josh is survived by his parents, a brother Benjamin King of West Chazy, his grandmother, Mary King of West Chazy, a nephew Robert King, his aunts and uncles; Penny and Dick Labarge of MD, Linda Jesse of CT, Nancy Whisten and her companion Tony of NJ, Mike Simpson of Plattsburgh, Laurie and Bob Rossi of RI, Jim Moore of Morrisonville, Wanda and Mark Knutelsky of FL, Donna Bodette of Plattsburgh, Elaine and Bill Stewart of West Chazy, Kathy King of Plattsburgh and Larry Lafaive of West Chazy, several cousins also survive him.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday January 19, 2013 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery in Plattsburgh later in the year.

ELLENBURG CENTER — Patrick J. King, 72, of Bradley Pond Road, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Dannemora, N.Y., on Nov. 12, 1940, the son of Walter and Laura King.

Patrick married the former Sandra LaClair on June 23, 1962 at St. Edmund’s Church in Ellenburg. He worked as a lineman for the I.B.E.W. Local 1249 and also had worked as an electrician.

Patrick loved nature and enjoyed fishing, hunting and trapping in the wilderness, gardening and canning. He was an avid woodworker and enjoyed spending time building different things.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Sandra King of Ellenburg Center; one son, Stuart King and his wife Sherry of Ellenburg Center; four daughters, Michelle King and her companion Melvin Lashway of Mooers Forks, Amy Rock and her companion Mike Dupis of Ellenburg Center, Nichole Miller and her husband Richard of Ellenburg Center, and Heidi King and her companion Brad Magoon of Ellenburg Center; a son-in-law, Shane Rock of Champlain; one brother, Paul King of Ellenburg Center; two sisters, Bernice Patnode of Wingdale, N.Y., and Phyllis Tricks and her husband Art of Daton, Ohio; his grandchildren, Rachel and Seth King, Brittany (Lashway) Lafountain, Cory and Jamie Rock, Patrick Miller, Courtney Lamberton, and Parker, Rylee and Zoey Magoon; his great-grandchildren, Dane Lafountain, Skylar and Kenna Magoon, and Carson and Cassidy Rock; three special friends, Dolan Finlayson, Maynard Monette, and Leon Poupore; and several nieces and nephews. Additionally, we would like to thank his wound care nurses for their ongoing excellent care.

He was predeceased by three brothers, Bill, Dave, and Walt King; and one sister, Verna Seney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 18, at the Rabideau Funeral Home in Ellenburg. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Dannemora. Following the burial a reception will take place at the Ellenburg Center Fire Department.

Donations in his memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Morrisonville ? Rita E. Kent, 74, of Morrisonville, died Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2004, at Fletcher Allen Health Care, Burlington, Vt.

She was born at Chazy Lake on March 17, 1930, the daughter of James and Mabel (Agoney) King.

She was employed as a nurses aide for many years at CVPH Medical Center. She was an avid bingo player.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Ann Kent of Saranac and Edward and Joan Kent of Mooers; two brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Hildred King of Chazy Lake and Robert and Esterine King of Altona; three sisters, Esther Donah of Chazy Lake, Elsie Mundy of New Hartford, N.Y., and Rachel Sain of Crestview Lake, Fla.; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

PORT HENRY — Dayton Wesley King, age 87, of 4 Jackson St., died Feb. 9, 2006.
He was born in Chever, N.Y., on July 28, 1918. He was the son of Freida (Kimball) and John King.
Mr. King worked for the Republic Steel Corporation and retired from International Paper Company. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of St. Patrick’s parish. He had served as a Town of Moriah assessor for 17 years. He was a member of the Lake Champlain Fishing and Game Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed the company of his pets.
Most importantly, he was our beloved father and grandfather. He is survived by his three sons and one daughter, John and Sharyn, Ed, Richard and his fiancée Brenda Cheney and his daughter, Margaret. His grandchildren, Rebecca and Joseph Pray, John King, Amy Manfred and Kellie and Caine Valentine, Cody and Corey Porter. Three great-grandchildren, MiKenna, Declan and Boden Valentine.
He was predeceased by his wife of 46 years, Mary (Wojewodzic); and his brother, Arnold.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Harland Funeral Home in Port Henry. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, Port Henry. Burial will be in the parish cemetery In the spring.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Town of Moriah Ambulance Squad or the local fire department of your choice in memory of Dayton W. King.

MOOERS — Arnold N. King, 92, of Mooers, died Saturday, Nov. 26, 2005, at the Cedar Hedge Nursing Home in Rouses Point.
He was born in Champlain on May 15, 1913, the son of Joseph and Laura (LaValley) King.
He was employed as a mason for many years for Murnane Construction and Fitzpatrick Construction in Plattsburgh and was a member of the Bricklayers and Craftworkers Union.
He loved gardening and flowers. He was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Mooers.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Gerald and Jane King of Tuscon, Ariz.;, a daughter and son-in-law, Scarlett and Bruce Sample of Mooers; six grandchildren and spouses, Wanda Sample, Allen and Kim Sample, Jim and Denise Sample, Lee and Trena Sample, Tracy King and Chris Kuszmaul and Debbie King; eight great-grandchildren, Ryan and Justin Sample, Kaleb and Kolby Sample, Devyn and Adisyn Sample and James and Jane Kuszmaul; and several nieces and nephews.
His wife, Eva (West) King, died on Nov. 13,1986. His parents; two brothers, Milton and Wallace King; and a sister, Flossie Guerin, also died earlier.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Mooers. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday from St. Joseph’s Church in Mooers. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mooers Fire Department or Mooers Rescue Squad.

Arnold Ralph King

Port Henry, NY — Arnold Ralph King of Jackson Street, Port Henry died peacefully Sunday, May 15, 2005, at Moses Ludington Hospital in Ticonderoga, N.Y.
He was born June 18, 1920, in Cheever, N.Y., the son of John and Frieda (Kimball) King.
He worked at International Paper Co. from 1946 to 1961 where he spent many years as head time keeper.
He was a veteran of World War II.
He enjoyed his many children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.
Arnold is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Joyce King of Port Henry; his children, Beverly and Duane Mattison of Ticonderoga, Arnold Jr. and Hope King of Mineville, Ralph King of Port Henry, Theresa and Frank Horton of Port Henry, Susan and Terry McCloskey of Plattsburgh, Debra King and George Smith of Port Henry and Joseph and Amy King of Port Henry; 18 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his grandson, Wally Edwards Jr.
At his request there will be no calling hours. A funeral service with a Liturgy of the word will be held Wednesday 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church in Port Henry. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Moriah.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Town of Moriah Ambulance Squad or to the Port Henry Fire Department Cold Water Rescue.

Gary William King

DENVER, COLO. — Gary William King, age 30, died unexpectedly on Feb. 1, 2011, at the U.S. Veterans Administration Hospital in Denver, Colo., with his loving aunt, uncle and best friends by his side. Born Jan. 31, 1981, he was the beloved son of Willie and Sheri (Stanley) King of Plattsburgh. He graduated from Peru Central School in 1999 and proudly obtained his bachelor degree at University of Maryland University College in 2009.

Gary served in the U.S. Army from 1999 to 2001 and in the Iraq Theater from 2005 to 2007.He remained an Army Reservist and was honorably discharged in 2010. Recently, Gary established his own business, KingBros Lawncare in Denver, Colo.

He is survived by his parents; and brother, Matthew, of Plattsburgh; grandfather, Bill Stanley of Peru; aunts and uncles, Bill and Roxanne Stanley of Lakewood, Colo., Tom and Linda King of Amsterdam, N.Y., Tom and Barbara Douglas of Dannemora; and many cousins.

He was predeceased by his grandmothers, Elaine Stanley and Marie King; grandfather, Adrian King; uncle, Stephen King; and aunt, Betty King.

Gary had a free and adventurous spirit. As an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer, he enjoyed his Rocky Mountains and native Adirondacks. He also had a love for the game of soccer which he played throughout the Champlain Valley in his youth and in high school.

Gary had friendships from coast to coast and if Gary was your friend, he was a friend for life. But most important, he was a loving son and grandson and a special big brother with a kind and generous heart. It was not the number of years in his shortened life that mattered; it was the life in those short years. And Gary lived every day as if it were his last.

Contributions may be made to Peru Central School toward a soccer scholarship in Gary’s memory to be established at a later date.

Calling hours will be Monday, Feb. 7, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 8, at 11 a.m. at the Blessed John XXIII Newman Center.
