Leander Begor

SARANAC LAKE — Leander
Begor, 82, of Vermontville. died
Tuesday morning at the Saranac
Lake General Hospital.
He was born on July 21, 1896 in
Ellenburg,’ the son of Ogdeir and
Barbara Campbell Begor. His wife,
the former Minnie Patnode, died in
im.He is survived by four
daughters, Mrs. Mildred Brown of
Franklin Falls, Mrs. Doris
Stickney of Bloomingdale, Mrs.
Cynthia Oliver of Gabriels and
Miss June Begor of Lake Clear;
four sons, Raymond and Marvin,
both of Vermontville, Dennis of
Saranac Lake and Paul of Las
Vegas; 32 grandchildren and 22
great-grandchildren.
Mr Begor had been a resident of
Vermontville for the past 60 years.
He was a veteran of World War I
and was employed as a carpenter
for many years with Potter and
DeWitt Construction Co.
There will be a funeral service
today at 10:00 a.m. at the Fortune
Funeral Home with the Rev. John
McClester, pastor of the First
Presbyterian Church, officiating.
Interment will be in the Brighton
Cemetery in May.

LAKE PLACID – Dennis F.
Begor. 49. of 39 Power Street,
died Wednesday. Sept. 11. 1991,
at the Adirondack Medical
Center at Lake Placid.
He was born in Vermontville
Feb 11. 1942, the son of
Leander and Minnie (Patnode)
Begor
Mr. Begor was a plumber and
steamfitter by trade and more
recently owned and operated
Begor” s Taxi in Lake Placid until
ill health forced him to cease
its operation. Mr. Begor was a
veteran of the Army, serving
from 1963 to 1966. He was a
member of the Full Gospel
Businessmen’s Fellowship International
and a member of the
New Hope Pentecostal Church
in Lake Placid.
Survivors include his wife, the
former Patricia Stevens of Lake
Placid; three sons. Mark Sawyer
of Oswego. Roland and Joshua
Begor of Lake Placid; two
daughters. Melissa Sawyer of
Oswego and Rayna Begor of
Lake Placid; four sisters,
Mildred Brown of Franklin
Falls. Doris Stickney of Bloonv
ingdale. Cynthia Oliver of
Gabriels and June Begor of Lake
Clear; two brothers. Raymond
and Marvin Begor of Vermontville;
an aunt. Florence Boyea of
Arizona, and several nieces and
nephews. A brother, Paul, died
May 29. 1989. in Nevada.
Calling hours at the Clark
Funeral Home in Lake Placid
will be today from 2 to 4 and 7
to 9 p.m. A funeral service will
be held Friday morning at 11 at
the New Hope Pentecostal
Church. Averyville Road. Lake
Placid, with Richard Ducatt.
pastor, officiating and Lee
Smith, pastor of Constable,
assisting Burial will be in the
North Elba Cemetery. Lake
Placid.
Memorial donations may be
made to the Lake Placid Ambulance
Service in his Memory.
