LYON MOUNTAIN – Harry W.
LaPoint, age 53, died Thursday at
the Mary Fletcher Unit of the Vermont
Medical Center in Burlington,
Vt.He was born Oct. 20, 1925 in Merrill,
New York the son of William
and Jennie (Davis) LaPoint.
Survivors include: his wife, the
former Ethel Bond; three .sons,
Robert and Carl of New Milford,
Conn, and Normand of Lyon Mountain;
seven daughters, Mrs. James
(Marlene) Worrell of Lyon Mountain,
Mrs. Ronald (Wanda)
Rabideau of Lyon Mountain, Debbie
LaPoint of Lyon Mountain,
Onamae LaPoint of Lyon Mountain,
Darlene LaPoint of Lyon
Mountain and Lynn LaPoint of
Lyon Mountain and Mrs. Armand
(Brenda) LaBombard from Merrill;
three brothers, Howard, Bernard
and Edward of Merrill; five
sisters, Mrs. Delphus (Geraldine)
LaMere of Milton, N.Y.. Mrs.
; Albert (Pearl) Ashline of Lyon
Mountain, Mrs. Marvin (Lillian)
Collins of Merrill, Mrs. Carmen
(Dorothy) Merrill of Beekmantown
and Miss Evelyn LaPoint of Merrill;
five grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Drown
Funeral Home in Ellenburg Depot
on Saturday from 7r9 pm and Sunday
at 2-4 and 7-9 pm.
Funeral services will be held at
11 am on Monday from St. Bernard’s
Church in Lyon Mountain
and burial will be in St. Bernard’s
cemetery.

MERRILL – Bernard James
LaPaint. 63. of Prospect Hill
Road in Merrill died Wednesday,
April 15, 1987 at the CVPH
Medical Center.
He waa born Dec. 15, 1923 in
Merrill, the son of William amd
Jennie Davis LaPoint. He had
been employed at Fobare Buick
in Malone for several years, the
town of Dannemora for two
years and the Clinton County
Highway Department for the.
past five years. He was a
member of the Moose Lodge in
Malone and a communicant of
St. Bernard’s Church in Lyon
Mountain.
Survivors include he wife, the
former Mildred Bond, whom he
married Nov. 4, 1941 in St. Bernard’s
Church; two sons,
Richard LaPoint of Chazy Lake
and David LaPoint of Merrill;
three daughters, Mrs. Nancy
LaClaire of Churubusco, Mrs.
Ronald (Betty) Glennon of Altona
and Mrs. Leonard (Sandra)
Tallman of Ogdensburg; one
brother, Howard LaPoint of
Merrill; four sisters, Pearl
Ashline of Lyon Mountain,
Evelyn LaPoint and Lillian Collins,
both of Merrill, and Mrs.
Carmen (Dorothy) Merrill of
Bookman town; 17 grandchildren
and seven great Grandchildren
He is predeceased by two
brothers, Edward and Harry
LaPoint, and one sister,
Geraldine LaMere.
Calling hours will be from 2 to
4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at
Chateaugay Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held
at 1 p.m. Saturday in the funeral
home chapel with The Rev. Leo
Wiley officiating. Burial will
follow in St. Bernard’s Cemetery
in Lyon Mountain.

Howard P. LaPoint

MERRILL – Howard P. La-
Point, 77, of the Shutts Road
died Saturday, March 9, 1991, in
the CVPH Medical Center in
•t Plattsburgh.
He was born Nov. 6, 1913, in
Merrill, the son of William and
Jenny (Davis) LaPoint. He had
been a timber boss with the
Republic Steel Corp. in Lyon
Mountain for more than 35
years before the mines closed in
m 1967.
He was a member of the Lyon
Mountain Memorial United
Methodist Church.
Survivors include seven sons.-
Howard LaPoint, Jr.. Francis
LaPoint and Albert LaPoint. all
„of Merrill, Robert LaPoint of
Lyon Mountain. George LaPoint
and Thomas LaPoint, both of
.Chazy Lake, and William La
Point of Bethel, Conn.; six
daughters, Mrs. Donald (Barbara)
Collins, Jeannette DuBrey,
Sally Kline and Mrs. John (Mary
Rita) Cayea, all of Lyon Mountain,
Mrs. John (Genevieve)
Mailloux of Brainardsville, and
Mrs. Bruce (Diane) Shutts of
Merrill; four sisters, Pearl
Ashline of Lyon Mountain,
Lillian Collins and Evelyn La-
Point, both of Chateaugay, and
Mrs. Carmen (Dorothy) Merrill
of Morrisonville; 31 grandchildren,
17 great-grandchildren and
several nieces and nephews. His
wife, the former Bernice
LaFlesh, whom he married on
May 10. 1932. died on March 10,
1968. One son. Phillip LaPoint,
died on Feb. 12. 1977. Three
brothers, Harry LaPoint, Bernard
LaPoint and Edward La-
Point, as well as one sister,
Geraldine LaMere, died earlier.
Calling hours will be from 2 to
4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at
the Chateaugay Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at
10 a.m. Tuesday at the Lyon
Mountain Memorial Methodist
Church, with the Rev. Fred
Gilbert officiating. Burial will be
at a later* date in the Lyon
Mountain Protestant cemetery.

MERRILL — Edward LaPoint,
58, died Thursday morning at the
CVPH Medical Center. He was born
in Merrill Oct 23, 1921, the son of
William and Jennie (Davis) La-
Point.
He was employed at Republic
Steel Corp. in Lyon Mountain for
more than 28 years, and at Camp
Jean D’Arc in Chateaugay Lake.
Mr. LaPoint was a member of the
Lyon Mountain Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife, the
former Flora LaClair; three
daughters, Mrs. Judy Noreault of
Merrill, Mrs. Wayne (Jerrie)
Hilliker of Plattsburgh and Mrs.
Albert (Elaine) Latour of Beekmantown;
two sons, Donald Edward La-
Point of Morrisonville and Daniel P.
LaPoint of Plattsburgh; two
brothers, Howard and Bernard
both of Merrill; five sisters, Mrs.
Pearl Ashline of Lyon Mountain,
Mrs. Geraldine LaMere of
Poughkeepsie, Miss Evelyn LaPoint
and Mrs. Lillian Collins who are
both of Merrill, Mrs. Carmen
(Dorothy) Merrill of Beekmantown;
and nine grandchildren.
Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday at the
Chateaugay Funeral Home in
Chateaugay.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m.
Monday at St. Bernard’s Church in
Lyon Mountain. Burial will be in the
parish cemetery

Donald Edward LaPoint

MALONE — Donald Edward
LaPoint, 40, of Malone. and
formerly of Dover Plains, died
Sunday, April 30, 1989. at Alice
Hyde Memorial Hospital.
He was’ born in Malone on
March 11, 1949. the son of Edward
and Flora (LaClair) La-
Point.
He had worked as a mental
hygiene therapy aid at Sunmount
for the past year and
prior that had worked in the
same capacity for three years at
Harlem Valley Psychiatric
Center in Wingdale. He was also
a member of the Malone Moose
Lodge.
Survivors include his mother.
Mrs. Bernard (Flora) St. Louis of
Plattsburgh; a son, Edward Earl
LaPoint of Malone; a brother,
Dan LaPoint of Plattsburgh;
three sisters, Judv Noreault of
Merrill; Jerri Hilliker of Plattsburgh
and Mrs. Al (Elaine)
LaTour of .Plattsburgh; and
many aunts, uncles, nieces and
nephews.
Calling hours will be held today
from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
at Chateaugay Funeral Home. A
funeral service will be held
Tuesday at 11 a.m. in St. Bernard’s
Church in Lyon Mountain
with the Rev. Leo Wiley
celebrating the mass of Christian
burial. Burial will be in the
parish cemetery
