Joseph Cayea, 87, a lifelong resident
of Ellenburg Depot, died at his
home early yesterday morning following
a lenglthy illness.
Mr. Cayea, a farmer, was married
to the former Roseanna King, Feb.
28; 1892. He is survived, by his wife
•and four sons, Wilfred, William and
Walter, all of Ellenburg Depot, and;
Raymond of Champlain.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow
morning at 9:30 o’clock in
St. Edmund’s Church, Ellenburg.
The body will be placed in the vault
in, the church cemetery to await
burial in the Spring.

brothers, Raymond and

Walter, both of Ellenburg

Depot . .

The body is at the Drown

Funeral Home, Ellenburg

Depot, where friends may call


to 4 and 7 to 9 p .m. FuneralService will be held Friday

from St. Edmund’s Church.

Funeral Rites
Set for Girl
Killed in Crash

ELLENBURG—Funeral services
for eight-year-old Susan Cayea.
killed instantly in an automobile
accident on Sunday night, will be
held on Wednesday morning at 10
at St. Edmund’s Church in Ellenburg.
Burial will take place in the
Catholic cemetery.
Survivors Listed
Besides her father and mother.
Mr. and Mrs. Howard Cayea, and
sister, Deborah, she is survived by
her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.
Wilfred Cayea of Ellenburg and
Mr. and Mrs. Peter Burdo of Altona.
The little girl was killed Instantly
when the car in which she was
a passenger collided with a truck
on the Military Turnpike.
Her father, Howard, 32; mother,
Lilliian-28, and sister, Deborah, 4,
were not seriously injured.
Two Hospitalised
The mother and daughter were
hospitalized with cuts about the
face and body. They were both
listed as “satisfactory” last night
at Physicians Hospital.
The truck driver, Alden LaFave,
22, of Altona, was treated at Physicians
Hospital but later released.
Police said the little Oayea’gtrl
was sitting near the rear door on
the passenger’s side when the collision
occurred. That door along
with the trunk, was sheared off
Both Susan and Deborah Were
thrown from the vehicle Into the
woods by the impact.
