REDFORD — Edgar Weir, 75, of
Redford died Monday morning at
the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.
He was born in Clay burg
on Oct. 30, 1903. the son of James
and Addie (Keysor) Weir.
Mr. Weir was a member of the
Church of the Assumption of Mary
in Redford.
Survivors include two sisters,
Mrs. Catherine Raymond of St
Petersburg, Fla. and Mrs. Blanche
Laver of Potsdam; and several
nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and
7 to 9 p.m. today at the R.W.
Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.
Funeral services will be held
Wednesday at the Church of the
Assumption of Mary.
Burial will follow in the parish
cemetery

Blanche Laver

POTSDAM — Blanche Weir
Laver, 80, a resident of the
Sacred Heart Nursing Home in
Plattsburgh, died Monday,
March 17,1986.
She was born Aug. 28, 1905, in
Clayburg, the daughter of James
and Addie (Keysor) Weir. She
was married to Edward Laver
on April 17,1938 at the Church of
the Assumption in Redford. He
died in 1967.
Mrs. Laver was employed in
the business office of the New
York Telephone Co. from 1924
until 1964 in Plattsburgh and in
Potsdam. She is a member of
the New York Telephone Pioneers,
and is a member of St.
Mary’s Church in Potsdam, St.
Mary’s Altar and Rosary Society.
She is survived by a sister,
Kathryn Raymond of St.
Petersburg, Fla, and by several
nieces.
Arrangements are being made
with Garner Funeral Home, 10
Lawrence Ave., Potsdam.

Irwin Weir
PLATTSBURGH — Irwin “Ted”
Weir, 73 of 14 Couch St.. died
Thursday evening in the CVPH
Medical Center following a long ill
ness
He was born in Plattsburgh on
April 29 1900 the son of William
and Lena Weir.
Mr Weir worked for the New
York Telephone, Co where he was a
plant engineer. He retired in 1965 after
44 years of service.
He was a member of the Plattsburgh
Lodge of Elks 621 and a life
member of the Telephone Pioneers
of America.
Survivors include his wife, the
former Helen Russell; one son, Lt.
Cmdr. Russell A. Weir United
States Navy, Jacksonville, Fla.’
two daughters, Mrs. Ray (Laura)
Kenney of Westford, Vt., and Mrs.
Gordon (Sidney) LaBonte of Rye,
N.H, one brother, Harvey E. Weir
of Plattsburgh, One sister Mrs
Helen M Smith of San Antonio
Texas  and six grand Children.
Funeral services will be held
today at 3 p.m, at the R. W. Walker
Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers donations may
be made to the American Cancer
Society.

Marie Ryan, 55, of 601 Pelham
Place. Virginia Beach. Va.. died
Tuesday. April 1. 1986, in
Florida.
She was born on May 18. 1931.
in Plattsburgh, N.Y.. the daughter
of Harvey E. and Mary S.
(Welch) Weir. Her husband.
James W. Rvan. survives.
Other survivors include one
daughter. Kathleen Skinner and
two sons, Michael P. Ryan and
Stephen W. Ryan; her mother.
Mary Weir; a brother, Robert E.
Weir and two grandchildren, all
of Virginia Beach, Va.
Burial will be in Colonial
Grove Memorial Park, Virginia
Beach, Va. –
Memorial donations may be
made to the American Heart
Association.

73, died Friday in the CVPH
Medical Center.
Mr. Weir was born Aug. 17, 1904,
the son of James and Lena Weir of
Plattsburgh.
He was formerly employed
Miner Foundation,
Survivors include his wife, the
former Mary S. Welch; one
daughter, Mrs. William (Jean)
Ryan of Virginia Beach, Va.; one
son, Robert E. Weir of Memphis,
Tenn.; and one sister, Mrs. Helen
M. Smith of San Antonio, Tex.
Friends may call at the O’Neill-
Redden-Drown Funeral Home in
Plattsburgh prior to the service.
Funeral services will be held
Monday at 11 a.m. in the funeral
home chapel, with the Rev. William
Richard Campbell officiating.
Burial will take place at St. Peter’s
Cemetery in Plattsburgh.
