Blanche McCasland

ALEXANDRIA BAY N.Y. — Blanche King, 90, formerly of the King Road, Chateaugay Lake, currently of Cape Vincent, N.Y., died Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010 at River Hospital, Alexandria Bay.

Born in Standish, N.Y. on Jan. 10, 1920, she was the daughter of Leonard and Margaret (Powers) McCasland. They predeceased her.

She was married to Earl A. King on April 28, 1940. He predeceased her on Sept. 22, 2002.

Mrs. King graduated from Lyon Mountain High School. She was a communicant of St. Jude’s Church, Brainardsville and St. Patrick’s Church, Chateaugay. Following the death of her husband, Mrs. King moved to Cape Vincent to be closer to her son.

Mrs. King is survived by a son & daughter-in-law Gary & Ellen King of Cape Vincent; 2 granddaughters, Christine Miller of Summerville, S.C. and Lori King of Orlando, Fla.; and a great-granddaughter, Mary Hinckley.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday at Chateaugay Funeral Home from 3 to 5 p.m. only.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick’s Church with the Rev. John Looby officiating.

Spring burial will take place at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Chateaugay.

Donations in her memory may be made to Multiple Sclerosis Society.
