Lillian M. Lafountain

Altona � Mrs. Lillian M. Lafountain, 82, of Station Street, died Monday Dec. 4, 2000, at the Clinton County Nursing Home.

She was born in Ludlow, Mass. on Jan. 27, 1918, the daughter of the late Frank and Anna (Langevin) Lashway.

Lillian was an avid bingo player and was a member of Holy Angels Church in Altona.

She is survived by four sons and eight daughters-in-law, Gerald and Loretta Lafountain of Altona, Norman and Sandy Lafountain of Champlain, Clarence and Paulette Lafountain of Mooers Forks, Wayne and Peggy Lafountain of Altona, Wanda Lafountain of Altona, Gladys Lafountain Rabideau of Altona, Lorraine Lafountain of Altona and Linda Lafountain; five sisters and two brothers-in-law, Evelyn and Douglas Riley of Altona, Bernice Bushey of Plattsburgh, Mildred Dame of Plattsburgh, Geraldine Kimbler of Plattsburgh and Shirley and Homer Jarvis of Altona; three brothers and three sisters-in-law, Maynard and Patricia Lashway of Altona, Gerald and Veronica Lashway of Champlain and Kenneth and Monica Lashway of Mass.; 29 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Lillian was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Norman Lafountain Sr.; four sons, Ronald Lafountain, Larry Lafountain, Kenneth Lafountain and Maynard “Bucky” Lafountain; and a daughter, Mildred Lashway.

Calling hours will be on Friday, Dec. 8, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Altona. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Dec. 9, at noon from St. Louis de France Church in Sciota. Interment will follow in Holy Angels Cemetery.
