Plattsburgh businessman
Guy L. Peryea, 66, dies
PLATTSBURGH – Local
businessman and developer Guy
L. Peryea, 66, of Tom Miller
Road, died Saturday, Feb. 11,
1989, at CVPH Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 4, 1923, in
Altona, the son of Eugene and
Eva (Recore) Peryea.
Mr. Peryea was a graduate of
Altona High School. In 1946 he
purchased . a farm which he
operated in conjunction with a
Construction business. He developed
Guy’s Cedar Park and
Peryea’s Development Park in
Treadwells Mills.
He was active in the
geekmantown and Mount
Assumption Institute booster
clubs. He started the alumni
wrestling and arm wrestling
tournaments which were held in
the 1970s.
Mr. Peryea was a member of
the Plattsburgh Knights of Columbus
Council 255 and the International
Union of Operating
Engineers Local 106. He was a
member and communicant of St.
Peter’s Church.
He married Fleur Ange
Durocher Aug. 17, 1946.
In addition to his wife, survivors
include five sons, Guy
Peter Peryea of Cumberland
Head, Thomas Peryea, Michael
Peryea and Mark Peryea, all of
Plattsburgh and Martin Peryea
of Euless, Texas; four daughters,
Mrs. Jeffrey (Gayla) LaCross of
North Plainfield, N.J., Mrs.
Philip (Teresa) Desautels of
Plattsburgh, Marissa Peryea of
Charlottesville , Va., and
Michelle Peryea of Manhattan;
two brothers, Ernest Peryea of
Plattsburgh and Roy Peryea of
Altona; two sisters, Mrs. Elmer
(Frances) Oliver of West Chazy
and Mrs. Gladys Trudo of Plattsburgh
a daughter-in-law, Mrs.
Martin (Ximena) Peryea of
Euless, Texas; seven grandchildren
and several nieces and
nephews.
Calling hours will be Monday
from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. a t
Brown Funeral Home. A rosary
service will be held at 2:30 p.m.
Monday at the funeral home. A
Mass of Christian burial.will be
celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday in
St. Peter’s Church. Burial will be
in the spring in the parish cemetery.
Memorial donations may be
made to the MAI-St. John’s
Merger Fund

  1. How is Fleur Ange Durocher born on Aug. 17, 1946, related to the founder in 1843 of the Sisters of the Holy Name of Jesus and Mary, taking the name Marie-Rose. She was born on October 6, 1811 at St. Antoine in Quebec, Canada, Eulalie Durocher was the tenth of eleven children.
