MORRISONVILLE � Melvina M. Agnew, 100, of Mason Street, Morrisonville, died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003, at CVPH Medical Center.

She was born in Springcove, N.Y., Feb. 22, 1903, the daughter of Peter and Marcelean (Blair) Soulia.

Melvina married Napoleon F. Agnew at St. Peter�s Church in Plattsburgh in 1923. Mr. Agnew died in 1971.

Mrs. Agnew was a member of St. Alexander�s Church in Morrisonville. She was a member of the Altar Rosary Society and the Morrisonville Senior Citizens.

Melvina worked in housekeeping at CVPH Medical Center for 10 years. Later, she and her husband owned and operated Polley and Vina�s Snack Bar in Morrisonville from 1959 to 1963.

Survivors include two sons, Edward Agnew Sr. and his wife Jane and Elmer Agnew Sr. and his wife Wanita, all of Morrisonville; two daughters, Elizabeth Carter of Saranac and Mrs. Donald (Alice) Austin of Bendersville, Pa; 24 grandchildren; and many great and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son, James Agnew.

Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Alexander�s Church. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Morrisonville Rescue Squad.
