Gladys Gadway

BERRIEN SPRINGS, MICH. � Gladys Gadway, 88, formerly of Saranac, N.Y., died Friday, Aug. 16, 2002, at Orchard Grove Extended Care Centre in Benton Harbor, Mich., following an illness.

She was born Dec. 18, 1913, in England, the daughter of William and Ellen (Negus) Bell.

She married Owen Gadway on July 28, 1932.

Gladys was a longtime resident of Saranac and a member of the High Banks Seventh Day Adventist Church. While residing in Berrien Springs, she attended Pioneer Memorial Church for the past several years.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Gordon and Marjorie Gadway of Berrien Springs, Mich., and Arthur and Carolyn Gadway of Glens Falls, N.Y.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; one sister, Alice Blacklock of Oshowa, Ontario; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Owen in 1980; one son, Robert Gadway who died Sept. 14, 1945; three brothers, Albert Bell, Robert Bell and Fred Bell; and three sisters, Ann Walde, Lucy McKibbon and Ellen Parker.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, Aug. 23, 2002, from noon to 2 p.m. a the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in the Saranac Independence Cemetery in Saranac.
