TRICK, Rita Mae (Westgerdes) “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness.” (Philippians 3:7, 8a) Rita, 83, of Vandalia, died Monday, September 8, 2008. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Aloysius Trick. She was born February 26, 1925. Rita was a registered nurse who volunteered her services at school and community functions. Her past community involvement also included working for the Board of Elections. She was an active member of St. Christopher Catholic Church and was especially involved with the Bereavement Committee, Perpetual Adoration and the annual parish festival. Rita is also survived by four sons and their wives, Dennis and Jan, Marvin and Tina, Tom and Cheryl, Greg and Casey; four daughters and their husbands, Jean and Bob Sichman, Linda Trick, Diane and Gary Warden, and Cindy and John Fischer; twenty-five grandchildren, Jen, Jon, Jacque and Julie; Kelly, Matt and Joe, Tab and Kristen, Stephanie, Sam, Rachel and Nathan, Liz, Jason and Zach, Eric, Andy, and Ashley, Josh and Sarah, and Ben, Adam, Danny and Sam; fifteen great-grandchildren, Emma, Jake, Owen, Olivia, Liesel, Arthur, Kate, Will, Abbie, Meg, Libby, Sophie, Violet, Beatrice and Micah; and by two sisters, Alice Wright and Joanne Neff, and numerous other relatives and loving friends. Words cannot express the loss we feel but wonderful memories heal broken hearts. “Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things… When Christ, who is our life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.” (Colossians 3:1, 2, 4) Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 am, Thursday, September 11, (TODAY) at St. Christopher Catholic Church, Vandalia with Fr. Francis Keferl officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Christian Foundation for Children and Aging – General Fund. The family would like to offer special thanks to Vandalia Police Officer Jenny Chiles, all the EMT’s and the staff of Miami Valley Hospital who gave Rita such wonderful care.
