Eugene N. Peryea died unexpectedly
Friday Sept. 18, 1959
at the home of his daughter.

Mr Peryea. a native of the
Town of Altona. was born on
March .4. 1881. a son of Louis and
Julienne Emery Peryea He
was a retired farmer For the
past the year he and Mrs, Per-
yea, the former Eva Recore, resided
at their home of their daughter.

Beside his wife and the daughter
mentioned. Mr Trudo is survived
by another daughter Mrs
Elmer Oliver of West Chary
three sons. Ernest and Guy Per
yea of Plattsburgh and Roy Peryea
of Altona. also one sister.
Mrs. Edward Dupont of Champlain.
and 12 grandchildren
The body is at the home of Roy
Peryea at Altona. Funeral services
will be held at Holy Angels
Church, Altona. Monday morning
at 9 a.m Burial will be in the par
ish cemetery

Plattsburgh businessman
Guy L. Peryea, 66, dies
PLATTSBURGH – Local
businessman and developer Guy
L. Peryea, 66, of Tom Miller
Road, died Saturday, Feb. 11,
1989, at CVPH Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 4, 1923, in
Altona, the son of Eugene and
Eva (Recore) Peryea.
Mr. Peryea was a graduate of
Altona High School. In 1946 he
purchased . a farm which he
operated in conjunction with a
Construction business. He developed
Guy’s Cedar Park and
Peryea’s Development Park in
Treadwells Mills.
He was active in the
geekmantown and Mount
Assumption Institute booster
clubs. He started the alumni
wrestling and arm wrestling
tournaments which were held in
the 1970s.
Mr. Peryea was a member of
the Plattsburgh Knights of Columbus
Council 255 and the International
Union of Operating
Engineers Local 106. He was a
member and communicant of St.
Peter’s Church.
He married Fleur Ange
Durocher Aug. 17, 1946.
In addition to his wife, survivors
include five sons, Guy
Peter Peryea of Cumberland
Head, Thomas Peryea, Michael
Peryea and Mark Peryea, all of
Plattsburgh and Martin Peryea
of Euless, Texas; four daughters,
Mrs. Jeffrey (Gayla) LaCross of
North Plainfield, N.J., Mrs.
Philip (Teresa) Desautels of
Plattsburgh, Marissa Peryea of
Charlottesville , Va., and
Michelle Peryea of Manhattan;
two brothers, Ernest Peryea of
Plattsburgh and Roy Peryea of
Altona; two sisters, Mrs. Elmer
(Frances) Oliver of West Chazy
and Mrs. Gladys Trudo of Plattsburgh
a daughter-in-law, Mrs.
Martin (Ximena) Peryea of
Euless, Texas; seven grandchildren
and several nieces and
nephews.
Calling hours will be Monday
from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. a t
Brown Funeral Home. A rosary
service will be held at 2:30 p.m.
Monday at the funeral home. A
Mass of Christian burial.will be
celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday in
St. Peter’s Church. Burial will be
in the spring in the parish cemetery.
Memorial donations may be
made to the MAI-St. John’s
Merger Fund

John J. Peryea
KEESEVILLE – John J. Peryea,
71, died Friday, March 29th  at
the CVPH Medical Center.
He was born on March 16,1912, in
Altona, the son of John and Anna
 (Miller) Peryea.
He was a communicant of St. John
the Baptist Church in Keeseville
and a member of the Eugene
Santor Knights of Columbus Council
4689.
He is survived by his wife, the
former Delma Barber; four sons,
John Jr. of Alaska, and Norman,
Patrick and Michael, all of
Keeseville; two daughters, Mrs.
Bruce (Shirley) Bourgeois of
Keeseville and Mrs. Steven (Mary)
Borst of Lake Clear; 14 grandchildren;
three brothers, Pat of
Chazy Lake, Leo of Buffalo and Norman
of Vermont; and eight sisters,
Anna King of Peru, Emma King of
Chazy Lake, Leona Dobbs of Peru,
Velma King of Keeseville, Muriel
Larsen of Elizabethtown, Ky.
Hortense Ashline of Cornith,
Thelma lrwin of Peru and Christine
Shepard of Richmond, D.C.
A funeral mass will be held today
at 10 a.m. at St. John The Baptist
Church in Keeseville.
Burial will follow in the parish
cemetery.
Hamilton Funeral Home is handling
arrangements

John Peryea
John Peryea. retired farmer of
the Town of Altona. died late
Thursday night at the home of
his daughter. Mrs Emma King
at (Chazy Lake ).He was 80
Mr Peryea, a native ot Altona
was born  July 24 1879. a son
of John and Mary Barnaby
He is survived by his wife and
12 children, eight daughters and
four sons.
The daughters are Mrs. Ernest
King and Mrs. Emma King of
Chazy Lake. Mrs. Sherry Dobbs
of Peru, Mrs. William King of
Keeseville, Mrs. Edward Larson
of Peru, Mrs. Maynard Ashline
of Corning. Mrs. Raphael Irving
of Peru and Mrs. Edward Sheppard
of Lardner. D. C.
The sons are John Peryea of
Keeseville. Bernard Peryea of
Chazy Lake, Leo Peryea of Tonawanda
and Sgt. Norman Peryea,
serving in Germany. There also
are 47 grandchildren and 12-
great-grandchildren.
The body is at the Leazotte Funeral
Home at Altona. Funeral
services will be held at Holy
Angels Church on Monday morning
at 10. Burial will be in the parish
Cemetery.

Hortense H Peryea

Stuart, Fla. ? Hortense H. Ashline, 84, formerly of Stuart, Fla., died Friday, Sept. 6, 2002, at the Fletcher Allen Healthcare Center in Burlington, Vt.

She was born in Altona, Aug. 23, 1918, the daughter of John and Anna (Miller) Peryea.

Her husband, Maynard, predeceased Hortense in July 1984. Together they ran Ashline?s Trucking in Corinth for many years.

She also enjoyed quilting, gardening and helping others with home Healthcare until April of this year.

Hortense is survived by her brothers, Bernard (Pat) and Hortense Peryea Dannemora, Leo Peryea of North Tonawanda and Norman and Claire Peryea of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; sisters, Velma King of Keeseville, Muriel Larson of Elizabethtown, Ky., Thelma (Tess) Irwin of Peru and Christine (Kit) and Edward Shepard of Richmond, BC; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, June and Cecil (Vern) Gibbs of Plattsburgh; sister-in-law, and brother- in-law, Belle and Lavern Ashline of Greenfield Center; sister-in-law, Edith Ashline of Ellenburg Depot and Marjorie Poupore of Glens Falls; and many nieces and nephews.

There will be no public calling hours. A memorial mass will be celebrated Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2002, at St. Joseph?s Church in Dannemora, with Rev. John Looby, pastor, celebrating. Burial will be at a later date in the parish cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Hospice of the North Country.

Arrangements are by the Hamilton Funeral Home in Peru.
