MOOERS – William Charland,
90, died Friday, April 6,1984, at the
Northwest Medical Center in San
Albans, Vt.
He was born Dec. 25, 1893, in
Mooers, the son of Peter and
Aurelia (Maynard) Charland.
He retired from Republic Steel
Corp. in Lyon Mountain.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs.
Leona Hammond of Burlington, Vt;
and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be at the Drown
Fungal Home in Mooers from 10 to
1130 a.m. Tuesday.
Funeral services will be at noon
Tuesday at the Holy Angels Church.
Burial will be in Holy Angels
Cemetery in Altona

ALTONA — Funeral services for
William Charland, 90, who died Friday
evening, April 6. 1984, at the
Northwestern Medical Center in St.
Albans, Vt.. were held on Tuesday
at noon at Holy Angels Church in
Altona.
The Rev. John Fallon and the
Rev. Howard McCasland celebrated
the mass.
Bearers were Gary Agoney,
Thomas and Andrew Hemingway,
George Boulrice, Willard Blow and
Donald Charland.
Burial was in Holy Angels
Cemetery.
Drown Funeral Home in Mooers
was in charge of arrangements.

Peter Charland
MAL0NE — F u n e r a l
services for Peter Charland,
78. were held June 12 from
the Notre Dame Church in
Malone.
He was buried in the parish
cemetery in the family plot
with full military rites.
Mr. Charland died June 9
at the Alice Hyde Hospital
in Malone after a long illness.
He was  born in Altona, June
21 1890 the son of Peter and
Auranlie (Menard) Charland
He was a veteran of World
War I He worked for 22 years
as a section hand for the .Rutland.
New York Central and
Grand Trunk railroads and
also operated a farm.
He is survived by one
brother, William of Lyon
Mountain one sister. Mrs.
George (Leona) Hammond of
Burlington Vt. and Several
nieces and nephews

LYON MOUNTAIN – Funeral
Mass will be sung at 9:30 a.m.
Thursday in St Bernard’s
Church here for Charles L.
Charland, 65. He died unexpectedly
at his home here Monday.
Mr. Charland, a miner and a
resident here 30 years, was
born in Altona on April 10, 1900,
the son of Peter and Aretia
Manor Charland. He was a
bachelor.
Surviving are two sister, Mrs.
Delia Burdo of Mooers Forks
and Mrs. Leona Hammond of
Connecticut; three brothers,
Peter Charland of Malone and
Nelson and William Charland of
Lyon Mountain, and several
nieces and nephews.
The body is at the Nelson
Charland residence. Burial will
be in the Catholic Cemetery in
Altona. The Chateaugay Funeral
Home is in charge of arrangements
