Mooso, 73, died Saturday, Feb.
17, 1990, at the CVPH Medical
He was born in Chazy July 3,
1916, the son of Victor and
Louise (Jarvis) Mooso.
Mr. Mooso served with the
U.S. Army during World War
II He then worked for L.G.
Robinson Building Supplies for
several years where he became
manager and eventually bought
the company in 1968. In 1972,
he built the new store on Route
22 and changed the name to
Mooso’s Hardware. He retired in
1976 and worked for the Lake
Champlain Transportation Co
He was a member of the West
Chazy Volunteer Fire Depart-
Ment for more than 43 years and
had served as i ts secretary-
treasurer; was a member
and past commander of American
Legion Post 769 in Chazy;
held several public offices, including
justice of the peace,
councilman, tax collector and
school-board member; and was a
member of St. Joseph’s Parish in
West Chazy where he served as
a trustee for 17 years.
Survivors include his wife, the
former Leona M. La Valley; one
daughter, Mrs. Robert (Shirley)
White of Fullerton, Calif, Two
sons Gerald “Jerry” Mooso of
Costa Mesa, Calif and Gregory
Mooso of Columbus, Ohio One
brother Leeward Moose of
Plattsburgh and Merritt Island Fla
four sisters Mrs Gladys Lapierre
Mrs Thomas (Geraldine) Kemp
and Mrs Veronica Wells all of
Chazy and Mrs Earl (Mary) LaBarge
of Glenn Falls seven grandchildern
four Great Grandchildren and
several nieces and Nephews
Four brothers died earlier,
Raymond Mooso,George Mooso
, Roy Mooso, and Kenneth Mooso
Calling hours will be at the
R.W  Walker Funeral Home to-
day 2-4 and 7-9 P.M Members
of the American Legion will meet
at the funeral Home today at
7:15 P.M followed by members
of the Clinton County Firemen’s
Association at 7:30 P.M. Funeral
services will be held Tuesday
at 1:30 p.m at St Joseph Church
in West Chazy. Spring burial
will be in the parish Cemetery.

Hubert Raymond Mooso

MURRAY, KY. — Hubert Raymond Mooso, 71, of Ezell Road in Murray, KY., died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2001, at his home.

He was born in West Chazy on Nov. 25, 1929, the son of Hubert Raymond Sr. And Mildred (Lamoy) Mooso.

Mr. Mooso retired from the U.S. government.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War.

Mr. Mooso was a member of the Elks, the 19th Bombardier Group and the Am Vets.

Survivors include his wife, Annette (Gill) Mooso , whom he married on Dec. 26, 1981 in Greeley, Colo., of Murray, Ky.; two stepdaughters, Barb Erickson and her husband, Dale of Rochester, Minn., and Veronica Powers and her husband, Maurice of Bemidji, Minn.; one son, Michael Raymond Mooso and his wife, Carol of Greeley, Colo.; one stepson, Brian Kuzel and his wife, Natasha of Anchorage, Alaska; one brother, Robert Mooso and his wife, Sandra of West Chazy, N.Y.; seven grandchildren, Vetya and Petya Kuzel, Anthony and Rebecca Erickson, and Devin, Robert and Lillian Powers.

Mr. Mooso is predeceased by his parents, Hubert Raymond Mooso Sr. and Mildred (Lamoy) Mooso.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

J.H. Churchill Funeral Home in Murray, KY., is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Mooso was moved from
Glens Falls to Florida in 1957.
He w*s in the restaurant
business for many years in
Glens Falls and was employed
for eight years by the Medic-
Housing Nursing Cepter.
He was a member of Lake
Worth Moose Lodge and Lake
Worth Elks Club in Florida.
Survivors include his wife,
Irene Mooso of Lake Worth; a
son, David Mooso of Hendersonville,
Nev.; two daughters, Lois
Carlton of Glens Falls and
Launa Ash of Fort Edwards;
two brothers, Orville Mooso of
West Chazy and Leeward Mooso
of Plattsburgh; four sisters,
Gladys LaPier of Plattsburgh,
Geraldine Kemp and Veronica
Wells, both of Chaw, and Mary
LaBarse of Greenfield Center;
several grandchildren and several
Funeral services were handled
by the Lake Worth Dorsey
Funeral Home.
Burial was in Memory
Gardens Cemetery, Lake Worth,

WEST CHAZY – H. Raymond
Mooso, 77, died Friday, July 20,
1984, at CVPH Medical Center.
He was born on April 26, 1907,
in Chazy, the son of Victor and
Louise (Jarvis) Mooso.
Mr. Mooso had been employed
with Vincent S. Jerry and Son in
Plattsburgh for more than 25
years 1>efore his retirement. He
was a former member of the
West Chazy Fire Department.
He married the former
Mildred Lamoy on Aug. 25, 1928,
in West Chazy.
He is survived by his wife; two
sons, H.v Raymond Mooso Jr. of
Buchanan, Tenn., and Robert
Mooso of West Chazy; three
brothers, Kenneth Mooso of
Florida, Orville Mooso of West
Chazy and Leeward Mooso of
Plattsburgh; four sisters, Mrs.
Elwin (Gladys) Lapier of West
Chazy, Mrs. Geraldine Coulombe
of Chazy, Mrs. Donald
(Veronica) Wells of Chazy and
Mrs. Earl (Mary) La Barge of
Greenfield; and two grandchildren.
Two brothers, Roy and George
Mooso, died previously.
There will be no calling hours.
Memorial services will be held
at 12:30 p.m. Monday at O’Neill-
Redden-Drown Funeral Home in
Burial will be in Whispering
Maples Memorial Gardens
Memorial donations may be
made to the West Chazy Fire
Department Ambulance Fund.

Wednesday evening.
He was born in Putney, Vt.,
Dec. 15, 1886 the son of Maxim
H. and Mary Merrihew Mooso
Survivors include his wife,
the former Grace Luck; five
sons, Raymond and Orvil of
West Chazy, George and Kenneth
of Fort Myers, Fla., and
Leward of Plattsburgh: four
daughters. Mrs. Elwin (Gladys)
LaPier of Champlain, Mrs. Ernest
(Geraldme) Coulombe and
Mrs. Donald (Veronica) Weils
of Chazy, and Mrs. Earl (Mary)
LaBarge of Greenfield Center:
a brother. Charles Mousseau of
Chazy; 28 grandchildren and 29
Funeral services will be held
Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in Sacred
Heart Church, Chazy.
The body is at the R W.
Walker Funeral Home. Plattsburgh.
Calling hours begin at
2 pm
