Albert Bailey Sr. dies

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. – Albert
Bailey Sr., 79, a retired North Country
businessman, died Wednesday,
Feb. 9,1983, at Port St. Lucie, Fla.
He was born Aug. 2, 1903, in
Nashua, N.H., the son of Frank and
Mary (Bouchard) Bailey.
He was the former owner and
operator of Bailey Ford in Dannernora
and was a resident of Port
St. Lucie and Dannemora.
He was a member of the Clinton
County Automobile Dealers
Association. He operated the Ford
dealership from 1934 until his retirement
in 1970. He was a member of
the Dannemora Knights of Columbus
and Pittsburgh Lodge of Elks,
and was^a charter member of the
Dannemora Lions Club.
He leaves his wife, Albina
Pellerin Bailey; three sons, Al
Bailey Jr. of Lyon Mountain,
Roderick Bailey of Alden and Lloyd
Bailey of Malone; a brother,
Leonard Bailey of Dannemora; five
sisters, Mrs. Blanche Wood of
Rouses Point, Mrs. Charles
(Gladys) Welch of Chazy Lake,
Mrs Elmer.(Florence) Gagnier of
Ft. Myers, Fla., Mrs. Jennette
Guthril of Ft. Myers, Fla., and Mrs.
Madelon Cole of Lake Worth, Fla.;
and seven grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held from 2
to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the
O’Neill-Redden-Drown Funeral
Home in Plattsburgh.
Funeral services will be held at 11
a.m. Monday at Assumption of
Mary Church in  Redford
Entombment will be in the parish
cemetery vault to await spring
burial.

Blanche B. Wood
PLATTSBURGH – Blanche
B. Wood, 84, of Meadow brook
Nursing Home, and formerly of
Dannemora, died Thursday,
Dec. 5. 1985. at the CVPH Medical
Center.
Mrs. Wood was born in
Nashua, N.H. on March 22, 1901,
the daughter of Frank and Mary
(Bouchard) Bailey.
Her husband, Thomas Wood,
died in 1970.
Mrs. Wood was a former
member of St. Joseph’s Church
in Dannemora and the Assumption
of Mary Church in Redford.
She was also a member of the
Rosary Altar Society of St.
Joseph’s Church.
She was an elementary school
teacher, having taught at Riverview,
Standish, and High Bank
Elementary Schools for 21- years
until her retirement in 1940.
Survivors include a brother,
Leonard Bailey of Dannemora;
four sisters. Mrs. Charles
(Gladys) Welch of Plattsburgh,
Mrs. Elmer (Florence) Gagnier
of Fort Meyers. Fla., and Mrs.
Jennette Gothel. also of Fort
Meyers, Fla., and Mrs. Arthur
(Madeline) Cole of Ovid. She is
also survived by several nieces
and nephews.
Calling hours will be Sunday.
Dec. 8, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the R.
W. Walker Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held
Monday, Dec. 9 at 10 a.m. at the
Assumption of Mary Church in
Redford.
Entombment will be in
Assumption of Mary Cemetery
in Redford.

Gladys B. Welch
PLATTSBURGH – Gladys
B. Welch, 86, of Hammond
Lane, died Thursday, Jan. 30,
1992, at the CVPH Medical
Center.
She was born in Highbanks
April 26, 1905, the daughter of
Frank and Mary Bailey.
Mrs. Welch was retired from
Clinton Correctional Facility
after 32 years of service. She
was a member of St. Joseph’s
Church in Treadwells Mills.
Survivors include her husband
of 31 years, Charles Welch of
Pittsburgh; a brother, Leonard
* Bailey of Dannemora; two
sisters, Mrs. Arthur (Madeline)
Cole of Ovid and Florence
Gonyea of Pittsburgh; and several
nieces and nephews. A
brother, Albert Bailey, and two
sisters, Blanche Wood and
Jeannette Pellerin, died earlier.
Calling hours will be today
from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at
the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh.
A Mass of Christian
burial will be celebrated Saturday
at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s
Church, Treadwells Mills. Burial
will follow in the Whispering
Maples Mausoleum, Tom Miller
Road.
Memorial donations may be
made to the Hospice Care of
Clinton County.

NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla.
— Jeannette (Bailey) Pellerin
Guthrel, 75, of North Fort
Myers, Fla., died Friday, April
4,1986.
She was born in Standish, on
-Dec. 10, 1910, the daughter of
Frank Bailey and Mary
(Bouchard) Bailey.
She was a resident of North
Fort Myers, Fla., for the past 13
years and a member of the St.
Francis Xavier Catholic Church
in North Fort Myers. Fla.
She is survived by a daughter,
Marcella Cole of Brandon, Fla.;
a son, Melvin Pellerin of
Fairlee, Vt.; four grandchildren;
one great-grandchild; a
brother, Leonard Bailey of Dannemora;
three sisters, Madeline
Cole of Ovid, Gladys Welch of
Plattsburgh, and Florence
Gagnier of Fort Myers, Fla.;
and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held
Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Francis
Xavier Church in Fort Myers,
Fla.
Burial will be in the Sacred
Heart Cemetery in Wauregan,
Conn, at a later date
