LYON MOUNTAIN- Oscar Rascoe, 59, died Wednesday
morning at the CVPH Medical Center after a long illness.
  He was born Aug. 31, 1922 in Saranac, the son of
George and Roseanna (Goddeau) Rascoe.
  He was a member of the the Lyon Mountain Council,
Knights Of Columbus. He worked 22 years for Republic
Steel Corp. in Lyon Mountain and 12 years for the State
Department of Transportation.
  He leaves his wife, Marie T. (LeClair) Rascoe; three sons,
William R. Rascoe of Chazy Lake, Roger A. Rascoe of Walkill
and David J. Rascoe of the US Navy; three daughters,
Gloria M. Trombley of Ellenburg, Carolyn F. LaFountain of Altona
and Joanne M. Rascoe of Walden; four brothers, Frederick, Edgar,
Elmore,and Frank Rascoe all of Saranac; five sisters, Mable
Drolette of Saranac, Josephine Collins of Redford, Laura Smart
of Clayburg, Eva LaFountain of Standish and Theresa Ormsbee
of Greenville, Tenn.; and eight grandchildren.
  Calling hours will be at St. Bernard’s Convent in Lyon Mountain
from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today.
  Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Bernard’s
Church in Lyon Mountain.
  Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
  Arrangements are by the Drown Funeral Home in Ellenburg Depot.
