Margaret W. Gadway

LAKELAND, Fla. — Margaret W. Gadway, 89, of Ariana Street and formerly of Saranac, died Sunday, June 15, 2008, at Lakeland Regional Hospital.

She was born March 20, 1919, the daughter of Tophile and Emma (Tallman) Gadway.

Margaret married Otis Gadway on Sept. 10, 1935, at the Methodist Church Parsonage in Chateaugay. Otis passed away on April 25, 2006, after 70 years of marriage.

Margaret was very involved with the Saranac Valley Fiddlers organization before moving to Florida and had many wonderful friends there. She thoroughly enjoyed her last few years living in Florida’s tropical climate, but her greatest joy was her grandson and three great-grandchildren.

Survivors include one daughter, Susan Dupraw, and her husband, Charles, of Mulberry, Fla.; one grandson, Robert Dupraw, and his wife, Renee of Maynard, Mass.; three great-grandchildren, Anne Marie Dupraw, and most recent, twins, James Allan and Lily May Dupraw; one sister-in-law, Myrtle Packard of Plattsburgh; a close and dear friend, Edythe Blank of Lakeland, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Otis; four infant children; three brothers, Delmore Gadway, Harold Gadway and Aaron Gadway; and one sister, Bertha Huntley.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2008, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the R.W. Walker funeral Home, 69 Court St., Plattsburgh.

Funeral services will take place on Friday at 11 a.m. in the funeral-home chapel.

Burial will follow in Independence Cemetery in Saranac.
