Helen R Rock

CADYVILLE, NY — Helen R. Miller, 98, of Route 3, died Monday, Nov. 13, 2006, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

She was born in Cadyville, N.Y., on Oct. 21, 1908, the daughter of Joseph and Albina (Goddeau) Rock.

Helen married Norman J. Miller in Morrisonville on May 24, 1930. Norman passed away on Nov. 8, 2002.

Helen had a great joy for life and a terrific sense of humor. She loved to tend to her flower gardens and also most recently crocheted many blankets and gifts for her family. Most of all Helen loved to spend time with her family and friends and was loved by all who knew her. She was a member of the St. Alexander’s Church Altar Rosary Society.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Leward L. and Gail Miller of Plattsburgh, Larry T. and Joyce Miller of Plattsburgh and Thomas and Lucia Dashnaw of West Chazy; one sister, Mayford Gadway of Morrisonville; six grandchildren, Dean Miller and his wife Jennifer, Scott Miller and his wife Beth, Brian Miller, Carla Edwards and her husband Michael, Jennifer Donoghue and her husband Kevin and Elizabeth Dashnaw; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Helen was predeceased by eight brothers, Hurbert, Ernest, Wallace, Bert, Lewis, Perley, Walter and Arthur Rock; and two sisters, Mabel Rock Drollette and Nora Rock Sorrell.

Calling hours will be private and held at the convenience of the family. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 2 p.m. in St. Alexander’s Church in Morrisonville. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. A reception will take place following the burial at St. Alexander’s Jubilee Hall.
