MRS. JOSEPH PRAIRIE

Mrs. Joseph Prairie, of Bellmont,
died at the Underwood
Home in Burke, just one day
before she reached the age of
73 years. She had been in ill
health for several years.
Born in Boston, Mass., September
30, 1870, she was the
daughter of Antoine and Mary
(Raymond) Yandow.
She was a member of St
George’s church Burke and was
well known in the community
for being a devoted and loving
mother. Her kindness was an
outstanding trait.
Surviving are her husband
and eleven children, five boys
and six girls. They are: Mrs.
Peter Bushey and Mrs. Richard
Machabee, of Indian Orchard,
Mass.; Mrs. Charles Strader, of
Glens Falls; Mrs. William Legacy,
of Burke; Mrs. Charles
Smith, of Saranac Lake; Frank,
of Woodbury, N. J.; Leo, of
Burke; Calvin, of Indian Or
chard; Raymond and- Bernard,
of Bellmont; and Howard, of
Massena; a brother, William
Yandow, of Massena; a sister,
Mrs. John Lyons, of Providence
R. I., 23 grandchildren and six
great grandchildren.
