Howard J Prairie

Howard Prarie of Norfork and
formerly of Brainardsville passed
away recently at the age of 55,
He was the son of the late Mr.
and Mrs, Joseph Prarie and was
married to the foaner Rita
Roberts of Brainardsvllle. Besides
his wife he is survived by
four sisters, Mrs, Charles Smith
of Saranac Lake, Mrs. Elizabeth
Legacy, Mrs. Cca Bushey and
daughter Norm a of Chicopec
Falls, Mass, and Mrs. Earl
Straiter and son Arlington of
Brainardsville; three brothers,
Frank of Mew Jersey, Calvin and
Leo of Burke; one daughter, Mrs.
Fred (Gloria) Washer of Watertown,
a son Dale of Norfork and
four grandchildren. Pallbearers
tor the late Howard Prarie were:
Ross Prarie, Lawrence Prarie,
Robert Prarie, Lyle Prarie, Win
Legacy and John Dominy, all
nephews of the decased.

Norfolk — Howard J Prairie,
55, Main-Street, Norfolk,
was dead on arrival afPotsdam
Hospital at 1:30 Saturday
morning, Oct. 31, 1970. He had
been in failing health for the
past two years.
Funerai services were held
at 10 a.m. Monday .from the
Church of the Visitation, No r
folk, with Rev. George Lemieux
pastor, officiating. Burial
was in the Brainardsville Cemetery.
Surviving are his widow.
Mrs. Rita R. Prairie; one son,
Dale, Norfolk; a ‘daughter,
Mrs. Fred (Gloria) Washer,
Calcium; three brothers, Frank
Prairie, Woodbury, N. J,; Leo
and Calvin Prairie, Burke;
four sisters, Mrs. Charles
Smith” and Mrs. Elizabeth Legacy,
Saranac Lake; Mrs.
Cora Bushey, Chicopee Falls,
Mass. and Mrs* Ann Starder,
Glens Falls and four grandchildren.
Mr Prairie was born at Belt
mont Center April 19, 1915, a
son of Joseph and Vina Yandew
Prairie He married Miss
Rita Robinson in Burke on
Sept. 30, 1939 and the couple
lived at Burke until about 16
years ago when they moved t
Norfolk where he became employed
at the Barrett Division
of the Allied Chemical Corp.
Mr Prairie was a member
of the Church of Visitation and
the Norfolk Rod and Gun
