Bernard A. Prairie
Died Thursday

Bernard A. Prairie, of Ellenburg
died last Thursday night at the
Alice Hyde Hospital in Malone,
from injuries sustained when he
was stuck by a car in this village
on November 1st. Mr. Prairie suffered
a broken hip and other injur*
les and appear to be recovering
when he suffered a relapse.
Mr. Prairie was struck by a catoperated
by John Willard Hyde, 25
of Chateaugay, when he was crossing
a street.
Bernard Arthur Prairie was born
at Bellmont on March 11, 1909, a
son of Joseph Prairie and the late
Vina (Yando) Prairie. He had
been employed in this area as a
farmer.
He is survived by his father,
tour sisters and five brothers: Mrs.
Peter Bushey, Chicapee Falls, Mass;
Mrs. Earl Strader, Glens Falls;
Mrs. William Legacy, Burke; Mrs.
Charles Smith, Saranac Lake;
Frank and Raymond, Woodbury, N.
J.; Leo and Calvin, Bukre; and
Howard, Brainardsville.
Funeral services were held at
St. George’s Church in Burke on
Monday morning and Interment was
made in Notre Dame cemetery at
Malone.
