Louis Tovernier

 MALONE — Louis Tavernier,
79, of 34 Raymond St., Malone,
died Jan. 17, 1991 at the Alice
Hyde-Hospital in Malone where
he had been a patient since Jan.
5.
Born in Malone Aug. 22, 1911,
he was the son of Raymond J.
and Odile (Charland) Tavernier.
Mr. Tavernier attended St.
Joseph’s Academy in Malone.
On June 22, 1937 he was married
to the former Theresa
Dumas at Notre Dame Church
in Malone. Mr. Tavernier worked
for 50 years as a press operator
at the Malone Evening Telegram
In Malone. He retired in 1977.
He was a long-time member of
the Notre Dame Holy Name
Society, Notre Dame Church and
the Malone Knights of Columbus
308.
In addition to his wife, he is
survived by three daughters,
Diane Roe of Savanna, Ga., Mrs.
Nick (Sheila) Pestillo of
Edgewater, Fla. and Mrs. Raymond
(Jane) Vasquez of
Pasadena, Calif.; two sisters.
Mrs. Raymond (Aurore) Lamica
of Malone and Mrs. Adrian
1 Marie) Baker of Merrill; nine
grandchildren; a great-grandson;
and several nieces and nephews.
A daughter. Madonna Haag.
three brothers, Raymond, Henry
and Edward Tavernier, and two
sisters. Clara Dumas and Lucille
Boyea, died earlier.
Calling hours will be Sunday
from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in
the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral
Home of Malone. A parish vigil
service with the Notre Dame Holy
Name and Malone Knights of
Qrhimhus 308 will hf held Sun- –
tlay evening at 7:15- at -the
funeral home. A Mass of Christian
burial will be Monday at 10
am. at Notre Dame Church with
the Rev. Frank Coryer officiating.
Burial will be in the
parish cemetery in the spring.
Memorial donations may be
made to either the Malone Volunteer
Rescue Squad or the
Franklin County Cancer Society
