Plattsburgh — Mac J. Lancto, 93, of Plattsburgh, died Thursday, June 13, 2002, at the Evergreen Valley Nursing Home in Plattsburgh.
He was born in Lyon Mountain on April 26, 1909, the son of Nelson and Delphine (Sorrell) Lancto.
He was employed for over 40 years at New York Telephone in Plattsburgh, where he begin as a lineman and retired as a line supervisor. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. He enjoyed gardening and woodworking.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Irene (Benware) Lancto of Plattsburgh; a daughter, Barbara Reynolds of Winooski, Vt.; two sisters, Eunice LaMountain of Plattsburgh and Magdelina Porter of Plattsburgh; three grandchildren, Michael and Dianna Babcock of Liverpool, N.Y., Dale Babcock of Galveston, Texas, and Lori and Jack Moran of Houston, Texas; a great – grandson, Jonathan Moran; and several nieces and nephews.
His brother, Clifford Lancto; and sisters, Vivian Miller, Lillian Mahar and Leona all died earlier.
