Death of Peter Lafountain.

Peter Lafountain, died Monday
morninig after an operation at the
Montreall General Hospital. The leg
wias amputated but the patient was
unable to recover, though the operation
was successful.
Mr. Lafouataln was ait esteemed
and respected citizen of Dannemora
having been in business there for the
past quarter of a century. He was
well known in Clinton county and
Plattsburgh, having at one-time been
a resident of this city. He served in
the civil war, enlisting in Company
E, 16th New York Volunteers, and benig
discharged as iflnst lieutenant

  1. Peter LaFountain was buried with a son in the old catholic cemetery in Plattsburgh per his funeral notes in the Plattsburgh Republican. This cemetery was bulldozed in the early 1980’s…I find no head stone for Peter. His being a civil war vet and prominent citizen/merchant, surely he HAD a headstone at one time.
