Churubusco Young Lady Becomes
Sister Mary Irene of- the Precious
Blood Just Before Passing Away.

A particularly sad death was that
of Frances Gagnier, aged 25 years,
which occurred at. 4:30 o’clock on
Thursday morning at the home of
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph A.
Gagnier, at Cherubusco, following an
illness of over two years with tuberculosis.
About three years ago she entered
the novitiate at St. Joseph’s convent
in Malone* hut owing to 1U health
she was obliged to return to her
home after a tew months, and since
that time she had gradually declined
until the end came peacefully yesterday
morning. On Tuesday aha took
her final vows on her death bed. Rev.
J. P. Murphy, pastor of St. PhHomeua’s
church of Cherubusco, having
been delegated to perform the sacred
ceremony.. He was assisted by Slater
Ursula and Sister Joseph, of *St.
Joseph’s convent, o She assumed the
name of Sister Mary Irene of the Precious
Blood. 4
The deceased wits a young lady of
high character, a general favorite
with all, and her untimely death is
sincerely mourned by a wide circle
of relatives and friends.
Besides her parents she is survived
by four Bisters, Stella, Lillian, Beatrice
and Irene, and two brothers, J.
A. and Austin Gagnier.
Funeral services will be held at
St. Philomena’s church at
