Dora M Vassar
ALTONA — Mrs Dora M.
Vassar, 92, of Route 191 died
Tuesday morning, March 5,1985.
at the CVPH Medical Center.
She was born in Sciota on
March 5, 1893. the daughter of
Lewis and Mary (Deyo)
Trombly.
Her husband, Edward Vassar,
died on Nov. 4,1965.
Mrs. Vassar was a lifelong
resident of Altona and cared for
foster children for 30 years. She
was a member of St. Louis de
France Church in Sciota and the
Altar-Rosary Society of the
church.
Survivors include a son. Leon
Vassar of Altona; two grandchildren,
Larry Vassar and Mrs.
..Gary (Lynn) Rock, both of
Altona; a foster-granddaughter.
Mrs. Timothy (Carol) Chappie of
Plattsburgh six great grandchildren
and several
nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are today from 2
to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Leazott
Funeral Home in Altona.
Members of the Altar-Rosary
Society of St. Louis de France
Church will meet this evening at
7:30 at the funeral home.
A mass of Christian burial will
be celebrated Saturday at 11
a.m. at St. Louis de France
Church in Sciota.
Burial will be in the spring in
the family plot in the parish
cemetery
