Funeral Service
That the late Fred M. Laduke of
Keeseville was popular not only with
the people of the village where he had
always made his home, but with the
public generally in this section was,
.shown in the large number who attended
his funeral yesterday forenoon.
•Business was entirely suspended in
the village of Keeseville during the
funeral services, and practically every
official of Essex county, and many of
the leading citizens in all walks of
life from Clinton, Essex and Warren
counties were in attendance at the
The solemn cortege left the home of
deceased headed by the Keeseville
lire department, members of the Es-
sex County Bar Association, and |
Plattsburgh Council, Knights of Col
umbus, and proceeded to the church
of the Immaculate Conception where
a Solemn High Mass was celebrated
by Rev. Father Pierce of Port Henry,
with Rev. Father O’Reilly, pastor of
the church, as deacon, and Rev. Father
O’Reilly, a brother of the pastor,
sub-deacon. Rev. Father Torsney of
Clintonville was master of ceremonies.
After the Mass and the blessing- of
the remains Rev. Father O’Reilly, who
had been Air. Laduke’s spiritual ad-
visor for many years, delivered a
short eulogy, in which he spoke of
the uncertainty of life and the necessity
at all times to be prepared to meet
the Almighty. He paid tribute to the
worth of the deceased and offered
consolation to the stricken family.
The clergy accompanied the remains
to the family plot in the cemetery
adjoining the church and there short
prayers were said and the casket
was lowered to its last resting place.
