Mary E. Riley

PLATTSBURGH – Miss Mary
E. Riley, 60, of Champiain Street
died Sunday morning, Aug. 5,
1984, at her residence.
She was born in Saranac Lake
on April 30, 1924, the daughter of
Philip and Katherine (Thornton)
Riley.
Miss Riley was a registered
nurse and had worked for 38
years before her retirement in
1983. She graduated from St.
John’s Academy in 1942 and the
Champiain Valley School of Nursing
in 1945. •
She was a member of the
retired nurses association, the
St. John’s Altar-Rosary Society
and the Regina Maria Retreat
League and was a communicant
of St. John’s Church.
Survivors include a brother,
Daniel Riley of Cliff Haven; two
nieces and three nephews. A
sister, Dorothy Riley, died in
1950.
Friends may call at the Brown
Funeral Home in Plattsburgh today
from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Members of the Altar-Rosary
Society will meet tonight at 7:30
for services.
A mass of the Christian burial
will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. at
St. John’s Church.
Burial will follow in Mt.
Carmel Cemetery. *
Donations in her memory can
be made to the St. John’s Endowment
Fund.
