Columbe A former county official, dies at 75

ORLANDO, Fla. — Warren F.
Columbe, 75, formerly of Peru and
Plattsburgh, died Friday at his
home here.
He was born fn Platuburgh Oct.
29,1902, the son of Filmore and Bertha
Columbe.
He was the first Clinton County
sealer of weights and measures and
held this position until he retired in
1965.
He was on the exeeulixe.committee
of the Republican Party in Clinton
County, was president of the
Adirondack Unit of the American
Contract Bridge League and was
also president of the Plattsburgh
Duplicate Bridge Club. He was also
secretary of the Harness Horse Racing
Association.
He and his widow, the former
Catherine O’Connell, retired to
Orlando in 1966.
Besides his widow, he leaves two
daughters, Mrs. Larry (Kathleen)
Klein of Long wood, Fla. and Mrs.
Robert (Maureen) Moore of
Albany; two sons, Filmore J. Columbe
of Greenfield Center and
David W. Columbe of Albany; a
sister. Mrs. Walter (Venita)
Bracken of Plattsburgh; and a
brother. Maynard Columbe of
Clearwater, Fla.
Calling hours will be Sunday 7 to 9
p.m. and Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9
p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral
Home, Plattsburgh.
Funeral services will be held
Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. John’s
Church, Plattsburgh.
Burial will be in St. Peter’s
Cemetery.
