Maynard F. Columbe

SCOTIA – Maynard F. Columbe,
58, of 237 Vley Road,
Scotia, died June 27, 1987, at
his home.
He was born in Plattsburgh on
Nov. 10, 1928, the son of
Maynard Judson Columbe and
Ethel (Miles) Columbe. He moved
to Scotia when he was 18.
Columbe attended MAL in
Plattsburgh and was a welder at
General Electric Co. for 19
years until 1971, at which time
he was disabled.
Surviving besides his father,
who now lives in Clearwater,
Fla., are his wife, Jane (Girvin)
Columbe of Scotia; two sons,
Maynard Joseph Columbe of
Saratoga and John Columbe of
Schenectady; three daughters,
Laurie Schindler of Schenectady,
Mary Cacchiotti of Wakefield,
Mass., and Noel Smith of Scotia;
a sister, Joan Hartung of
Webster; 12 grandchildren and
an aunt, Mrs. Venita Columbe
Bracken of Plattsburgh.
Calling hours are today from 7
to 9 p.m. at the White Funeral
Home, 264 N. Ballston Ave.,
A mass of Christian burial will
be celebrated Wednesday at 10
a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church in
Scotia. Burial will be iff Park
Cemetery in Scotia.
Memorial donations may be
made to St. Joseph’s Church
Building Fund or Scotia United
Methodist Church Organ Fund,
in care of the funeral home.
