Nazaire Decoste

The angel of death again visited
one of our happy homes this past
week. Mr. Decoste was stricken by
a stroke Monday, May 26 and passed
away Wednesday night May 28.
Mr. Decoste was born in St. Chrysostome
and fifteen years ago moved
to Mooers Forks where he resided
till the time of his death. He had
been one of the most successful
farmers in this community and will
be mourned by all who knew him.,

wife and ten children: Mrs. Wilmer
Yelle, of Malone; Mrs. W. Brassard,
Mrs. Frank Snide, Eldemore, Leo,
Oswald, Adrian, Ernest, Mildred
and Ermon all of Mooers Forks, two
sisters Mrs. Joseph Trombley of
Churubusco and Mrs. Joseph Hebert
of Musing, Michigan also one brother
Joseph Decoste of Churubusco
and fifteen grandchildren.
Funeral services were held from
the Roman Catholic Church,
Mooers Forks, Saturday morning at
10 O’clock with Rev. Father Gilbert
celebrant of the requiem High Mass
with Rev. Father Valois of Champlain
and Rev. Father Eli of Sciota
officiating. It was one of the largest
funerals ever held in Mooers Forks.
Among the out of town relatives
accompanied by their families, who
attended the funeral were Joseph
Tromibley, Joseph Deooste, Antim,
Decoste, Louis Bebeaux, Peter Pupart.
Hermon Decoste, Fred Miller,
Arcade Charland, Leondas Charland,
Nazaire Trombley of Churubusco;
Fred Gebo, John Mackenzie,
Mose Huet of St. Chrystome; Victor
Gebo. of St. Antoine,. Daniel
Gebo and Alderic Trudell of Lachine,
Montreal; Joseph Ouimette of
Burke; Gene Gebo of Pawtucket,
Rhode Island and Delma Trombley
of Franklin Center. Many other
friends from St. Chrysostome, Churubusco,
Ellenburg, Chateaugay and
Montreal followed the remains to
its final resting place.
