Henry J Gonyea

Merrill – Henry J,
Gonyea, 73, of Star Route, Merrill,
died Tuesday, Dec. 30,1986,
at CVPH Medical Center, Platts
burgh.
He was born Jan. 28, 1913, in
Merrill, the son of Michael and
Nina (Tavernier) Gonyea.
Mr. Gonyea was a dairy farmer
all his life. He was deputy
grand knight of Holy Family
Council, Knights of Columbus
in Lyon Mountain, a former
member of Bishop Wadhams
Council No. 469 in Chateaugay
and a communicant of St. Bernard’s
Church, Lyon Mountain.
Survivors include his wife,
the former Mary Yando,
whom he married May 1967,
in St. Bernard’s Church, Lyon
Mountain; two daughters, Mrs.
Ronald (Joan) Merrill of Plattsburgh
and Mrs. Fred {Margaret)
Telford of Dannemora; two
grandchildren, Tricia and
Michele Merrill of Plattsburgh;
three sisters, Mrs. Marie Duquette
of Malone, Mrs. Herbert
(Claire) Herron of Morrisonville
and Mrs. Edwin (Laura) Buck of
Dannemora; several nieces and
nephews.
His first wife, the former Rita
Roderick, died March 1,1966.
Calling hours are today and
Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9
p.m. at Lyon Mountain Funeral
Home.
The funeral will be held at 11
a.m. Friday in St. Bernard’s
Church with the Rev. Leo Wylie
officiating.
Burial will be at a later date
in the parish cemetery.
Memorials donations may be
made to the American cancer
Society.
