ILL LONG, DIES
Native of Saranac Had Been
a Resident of Plattsburgh
Since 1922

Fred J. Gonyea, age. 68, of 145
Cornelia street, this city, died at
the Champlain Valley hospital yesterday
morning at 2:15. He succumbed
to an illness of about six
months.
Fred Joseph Gonyea was a native
of Saranac and was born February
8, 1871, a son of Joseph and Irene
(Beaudin) Gonyea. He resided at
Saranac throughout his youth and
late> moved to Beekmantown where
he became a successful farmer. Hi
1922 he moved to Pittsburgh and
entered business with his brother,
the late Irving J. Gonyea In a grocery
store at 220 Margaret street.
He retired in 1924.
Mr. Gonyea is survived By his widow,
nee Margaret McGaulley, and
Ave children, Miss Florence Gonyea,
Mrs. Floyd Beebie,’ Eiizsibeth and
Agnes Gonyea, all of Plattsburgh,
and Walter Gonyea of New York
‘city; also one brother, Arthur Gonyea,
of Cdhoes, and two sisters, Mrs.
Alfred Jacques of Morrisonville and
Mrs. John Sharboro and Mrs. Lavina
Wood Of Plattsburgh.
, Funeral services will be held Saturday
morning at nine o’clock from
St. John’s church, this city, where
Mr. Gonyea was a member of the
Holy Name society and long a communicant.
Burial will be in the family
plot in Mount Carmel cemetery.
