Leona M. McCormick

M McCormick, 76, of 58 W. Main
St., Chateaugay, died unexpectedly
in Leesburg, Fla., Monday,
Jan. 14,1985.
She was born Sept. 24, 1908, in
Chateaugay, the daughter of
George and Clarinda
(Patenaude) Cassidy.
Mrs. McCormick graduated
from Potsdam Normal School
and was a teacher in Fonda for
three years. Years later, she
became an elementary teacher
in the Chateaugay Central School
District, retiring in 1973.
She was a member of Court St.
Helen 100, Catholic Daughters of
the Americas, and St. Patrick’s
Altar and Rosary Society.
Survivors include three sons,
Jack and Arthur McCormick,
both of Chateauagy, and Donald
McCormick of Loudonville; a
daughter, Mrs. Robert (Kay)
Manley of West Islip, L.I.; a
brother, Herman Cassidy of
Elmira; a sister, Mrs Claire
Dwyer of Chateaugay; and 11
Her husband, J. Edmund Mc-
Cormick, died Oct. 20,1981. Four
brothers and three sisters also
died previously.
Calling hours will be from 7 to 9
p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to
9 p.m. Friday at the Chateaugay
Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at
11 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick’s
Burial will be in the parish
