Mrs. Clarinda Cassidy
A death which caused deep sorrow
in the community was that of
Mrs. Clarinda Cassidy which occurred
at her home in the southeast
part of the town known as the Number
Five section at 7:30 o’clock on
Wednesday morning. Mrs. Cassidy
had risen at the usual hour an
performed her morning household
duties. Her son Rufus, who was
in the barn upon entering the house
was horrified to find his mother
Iying on the floor cold in death. A
shock was attributed as the cause
of her sudden demise.
Mrs. Cassidy was born at St. Antoine
Abbey, Que., 70 years ago, a
daughter of the late Mr. ana Mrs.
Maxime Patenaude. In 1891 she
was united in marriage to George
Cassidy, of the same place, and 40
years ago, Mr. and Mrs. Cassidy took
up their residence on the above stated
farm. Mr. Cassidy’s death occurred
on August 18, 1913.
After Mr. Cassidy’s death Mrs.
Cassidy took up the burden laid
down by her husband and well and
faithfully did she perform her duties.
After a long, busy and useful
life she died as she had lived—honored,
trusted and loved. She lear
ed her own monument while she
lived in the hearts of all who knew
her. Her life was complete if work
rll done and well done constitute”
completion. Her Christian life was
beautiful from its beginning to its
close, and through all the vicissitudes
and sorrows that she met in
the way, her faith in God never
wavered.
Those who survive her are four
daughters, Mrs. J. W. Murnane,
Mrs. P. J. Bradshaw and Mrs. William
E. Dwyer, of Chateaugay, and
Mrs. J. E. McCormick, of Pittsfield,
Mass., four sons, Lawrence, of Lake
Placid, Wilford, of Pittsford. Vt,
Herman, of Elmira, and Rufus, who
resides at home, also three sisters,
Mrs. E. G. S. Gagnier, of Churubusco,
Mrs. Paul Langevin, of Ellenburg,
and Mrs. A. F. Moacham,
of Los Angeles, Calif. The bereaved
family have the sincerest sympathy
of the entire community, in
their great sorrow.
Funeral services will be held at
St. Patrick’s church on Friday
