PLATTSBURGH — Irwin “Ted”
Weir, 73 of 14 Couch St.. died
Thursday evening in the CVPH
Medical Center following a long ill
ness
He was born in Plattsburgh on
April 29 1900 the son of William
and Lena Weir.
Mr Weir worked for the New
York Telephone, Co where he was a
plant engineer. He retired in 1965 after
44 years of service.
He was a member of the Plattsburgh
Lodge of Elks 621 and a life
member of the Telephone Pioneers
of America.
Survivors include his wife, the
former Helen Russell; one son, Lt.
Cmdr. Russell A. Weir United
States Navy, Jacksonville, Fla.’
two daughters, Mrs. Ray (Laura)
Kenney of Westford, Vt., and Mrs.
Gordon (Sidney) LaBonte of Rye,
N.H, one brother, Harvey E. Weir
of Plattsburgh, One sister Mrs
Helen M Smith of San Antonio
Texas  and six grand Children.
Funeral services will be held
today at 3 p.m, at the R. W. Walker
Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers donations may
be made to the American Cancer
Society.
