Bertha M. Trombley

PLATTSBURGH ? Bertha M. Trombley, 73, of Truman Avenue, died Tuesday, July 17, 2001, at the CVPH Medical Center.

She was born in Mooers on Sept. 24, 1927, the daughter of Benjamin and Flanda (Pete) Nephew.

Mrs. Trombley was a member of St. Peter’s Church.

Prior to her retirement at Delgar’s she worked for the Beekmantown Central School Cafeteria, Sun in Sand Motel and H.L. Green.

Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, Arnold and Ruby Trombley of Keeseville, Wayne Trombley and his companion, Dorothy of Morrisonville and Kenny and Mary Trombley of West Chazy; six daughters and five sons-in-law, Betty and Martin Gregory Jr. of Ellenburg Center, Isabelle and Eugene Cassavaugh of Lewis, Sandra and Ronald King of Ellenburg Depot, Joan Trombley of Chazy, Joyce and Micheal Hanen of Florida and Sharon and Arnold King of Altona; four sisters and one brother-in-law, Nellie Burdo of Plattsburgh, Margaret LaValley of Beekmantown, Theresa Burdeau of Mooers Forks, and Irene and Harold McComb of Mooers Forks; 23 grandchildren; 15 great – grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Trombley was predeceased by her husband, Walter Trombley; two sons, Terry Trombley and Andrew Trombley; two grandsons, Cary Gregory and Arnold “AJ” Trombley; four brothers, Ben Nephew, Alex Nephew, Arthur Nephew and Robert Nephew; and three sisters, Sr. Rose Garrand, Rita Miller and Marie LaValley.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Peter’s Church. Entombment will follow in Whispering Maples Memorial Gardens on Tom Miller Road in Plattsburgh.
