PLATTSBURGH – Burton
L. Hackett, 80, of Plattsburgh,
died Friday, Jan. 26, 1990. at
the CVPH Medical Center in
Plattsburgh. He had been living
at the Meadow brook Nursing
Home.
He was born in Saranac,
March 2, 1909, the son of
Charles and Mary {King)
Hackett.
Mr. Hackett lived for many
years in Cadyville and Arizona.
He was a correction officer at
Clinton Prison in Dannemora for
43 years. His wife, the former
Valeda DeFayette, died earlier.
He is survived by two sons,
Gary Hackett and John
Hackett, both of Plattsburgh. a
daughter, Judy Canning of Wallingford.
Conn.; a brother,
“Malcom Hackett
five sisters, Verdith Tyndall of
Dannemora, Viola Duquette of
Cadyville, Valeda Prunier of
Cadyville, Vivian Hackett of
Plattsburgh and Val Demo of
Plattsburgh; nine grandchildren
and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held today
from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the
Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.
‘ A Mass of Christian burial will
be celebrated today at 1:30 p.m.
at St. Peters Church in Plattsburgh.
Burial will be at a later date in
St. Peter*s Cemetery. Memorial
donations may be made to the
Heart Fund.
