George H. Barber
CHAZY LAKE — George H.
Barber, 71, died Saturday in CVPH
Medical Center at Plattsburgh.
Mr Barber was born in Saranac
Jan 8, 1905, the son of Fred Barber
and Eugenie Venne.
He is survived by his wife, the
former Ella Mae King; five sons,
Donald and Gerald of Chazy Lake,
Fred and Roger of Standish and
Robert of Morrisonvijle; four
daughters, Mrs. Theodore (Marie)
Soucia of Peru, Mrs. Richard
(Eileen) Blow of Sciota, Mrs.
Clifford (Marilyn) LaFountain of
Standish and Miss Geraldine
Barber of Plattsburgh; four brothers.
Ross, Andrew, Samuel and
Antoine, all of Chazy Lake; two
sisters, Mrs. John Peryea, of
Keeseville and Mrs. John Newton
of North Bangor; 21 grandchildren;
seven great grandchildren;
and several nieces
and nephews.
Mr. Barber was a retired miner,
working for Republic Steel in Lyon
Mountain for 28 years as a mill
wright and welder.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4
p.m and from 7 to 9 p.m. today at
the Thomas A. Rible Funeral
Home. Funeral services will be at
11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Josephs
Church in Dannemora, with Rev.
Harold McCasland of St. Bernard’s
Church in Lyon Mountain officiating.
