Ella Mae King

CHAZY LAKE — Mrs. Ella Mae Barber, 94, of Route 374, Chazy Lake, passed away surrounded by her family, Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2007, at her home.
She was born in Chazy Lake on May 6, 1913, daughter of the late Napoleon and Amelia (Agoney) King.
Ella worked at Diamond National, the Vilas Home and retired from the Regina Maria Retreat House at the age of 91. She enjoyed a healthy life, blessed with good health. Ella enjoyed her family, gardening, flowers, canning, baking, traveling, needlework, crafts and her many, many friends. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters and a member of the Home Bureau.
Ella is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Sandy Barber of Plattsburgh and Gerald and Diane Barber of Chazy Lake; four daughters and sons-in-law, Marie and Ted Soucia of Peru, Eileen and Richard Blow of Altona, Marilyn and Clifford LaFountain of Hot Springs, Va., and Geraldine and Thomas Maliniak of Plattsburgh; two sisters, Beatrice Reyor of Massachusetts and Genevieve Heywood of Saranac; 26 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren; two daughters-in-law, Betty Barber and Linda Barber; and several nieces and nephews.
Ella is predeceased by her husband, George Barber; three sons, Donald, Fred and Roger; eight sisters; two brothers; and two daughters-in-law, Doris Barber and Evelyn Barber.
Calling hours are private and at the convenience of the family. A Mass of Christian burial will be Thursday, Oct. 18, 2007, at 11 a.m. from St. Joseph’s Church in Dannemora. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
Donations in Ella’s memory may be made to the Lyon Mountain Rescue Squad.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Heald Funeral Home, 48 Court St., Plattsburgh
