James Whalen

Malone Farmer Wednesday May 2 1917
The body of James Whalen, a well known
resident of the town of Clinton,
was found lying in the road about
three miles east of Chateaugay early
Sunday morning-. Mr. Whalen had
been in Chateaugay Saturday afternoon
and started in the evening to
drive to the home of his daughter,
Mrs. Matthew Dwyer. The body was
within 100 yards of his daughter’s
home. He fell out of the buggy and
his horse continued home. Coroner
Oliver was called and found that the
cause of death was apoplexy. He
probably died instantly before his body
fell to the ground. He was 62 years
of age and is survived by several sons
and daughters
