SCIOTA - Joseph Matott 83
of Sciota died Friday in Chaimplain
Valley Hospital after a
short illness.
He was a retired farmer and
a former resident of Cnamplain
Of late years, he had made his
home with his daughtmer Mrs.
Dennis Yelle of Sciota.
He was barn in Champlain
March 26, 1881, s son of Antoine
and Julia (Dusseau) Matott. His
wife, the former Rose Pelthier
died in 1926. They had seven
children.
Mr. Matott is survived by
Mrs. Yelle and another daughter,
Mrs. Hiram Abare of Chazy.
four sons, Clifford of West
Chazy, Orville of Peru. Leo of
Chazy and Lawrence of Champlain;
two sisters, Mrs. Philip
Guay of Champlain and Mrs
Charles Cassevah of Plattsburgh;
28 grandchildren, and
17 great-grandchildren.
The body was taken to the
Clark Funeral Home in Champlain
where friends may call
from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p m
A Requiem Mass will be cele-
brated Monday morning at 9 in.
St. Joseph’s Church. Cooper-
ville. Burial will be in the
parish cemetery.
